I just recently had the SMX grill sent to by Stillen. Yes, I know I listed the grill as a mod in my signature even though I just got it. :P I'm wondering, can I paint the grill myself? What do I need to do to have it painted? Do I need to sand it? Where do I get the paint that will match my factory paint? Nissan dealer? I want to paint it myself because it saves money, but moreover, this seem like an easier enough DIY job. Suggestions? Thank Choo!

Just get it painted at a shop. It's not as easy as it sounds.

My car is black. High glossy paint? Is that going to match my factory paint? Maybe I should just go to the dealer, and get a can of spray paint that matches my factory paint? I'm not even sure they have that.

Where are you located. If you are in the Raleigh area I will paint it for a low price.

NOOOO

just take it to a shop...the shop should charge around 75 for the paint job...(at least thats how much it cost in DC)
I tried to paint a grille once..........
NOT GOOD.
it was basically a fun project ..but in the end it was 85 down the drain...plus i had to buy a new grille.

I suggest you practice on scrap metal..and when you get good....then do your own painting.
its really not as easy as it sounds......
good luck

How about the mesh? tunedup said it's going to rust if I don't paint it. Should I paint it? I'm thinking of using some clear coat on it anyway. As far as painting the grill, I'm going to ask around first, and see what the prices are.
